Home Air Quality Lab publishes practical educational guides about indoor air quality, filtration, ventilation, humidity control and consumer air monitoring. This policy explains how we research, write and maintain that content.
Editorial scope
We translate public-health guidance, engineering principles, product specifications and recognized testing standards into practical home decisions. Unless an article explicitly documents an original test method and results, readers should not interpret the word “Lab” in our name as a claim that we performed laboratory testing.
Source standards
Health and safety claims are checked against current primary or authoritative sources whenever possible. Typical references include government public-health agencies, standards organizations, peer-reviewed research and manufacturer documentation for product-specific specifications. Commercial pages are not treated as independent evidence for health claims.
How guides are prepared
Each guide is organized around a specific reader problem and search intent. We define the limits of each method, distinguish particle removal from gas removal and moisture control, and avoid presenting general information as diagnosis or medical treatment. Important calculations state their assumptions so readers can adjust them to their room and equipment.
Products and affiliate relationships
Recommendations prioritize measurable specifications such as CADR, airflow, filter class, carbon quantity, operating noise, energy use and replacement cost. Affiliate relationships do not change our stated evaluation criteria. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.
Updates and corrections
We update articles when standards, public-health guidance or product information materially changes. Readers can report a possible error through the contact page. Material corrections follow our Corrections Policy.
Medical and safety limitation
Our content is for general education and is not medical advice. People with symptoms, diagnosed conditions or urgent exposure concerns should seek advice from an appropriately qualified professional and follow local public-health guidance.
